USA Dance (formerly United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association) is the dance organization for all dancers! We invite you to enjoy ballroom dancing at all levels - as an art form, a lifetime recreational activity and an Olympic sport. We believe that dancing feeds the soul and brings together people in wonderful social gatherings that foster health, skill and fun!
We welcome beginner dancers and will help you get started in ballroom dancing with our low cost beginner lessons taught by local professional instructors, and will also provide information about local studios and instructors that provide group and individual instruction.
Our local chapter, Louisiana Gumbo Chapter 5031 covers the Baton Rouge, Houma, Mandeville, Metairie and New Orleans areas and much of Southeast Louisiana. We have monthly social dances that include a half-hour complimentary group dance lesson with admission. We publish a monthly newsletter (see link at left to download a printable version of the current issue) and also sponsor annual DanceSport competitions.
Our chapter has hosted six successful dance competitions and will host the 2006 USA DanceSport South Central Regional Championship amateur competition back-to-back with the Louisiana Challenge Pro-Am competition in Baton Rouge on June 2 - 4, 2006.
